Sri Lanka Embassy in Tel Aviv Celebrates Vesak

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tel Aviv, Israel celebrated Vesak day on 25th May 2019 along with the participation of the Sri Lankan community residing in Israel and the family members of the staff of the Embassy.

The special Dhamma Deshana was delivered by Ven. Opatha Nalaka Thero, who visited from Sri Lanka for this special religious occasion. Ven. Thero highlighted the importance of the celebration of the Vesak Day and also briefed the devotees regarding the teachings of Lord Buddha based on “Buddha Jathaka Katha”. In the Dhamma Deshana, Ven. Nalaka Thero also explained the values of human lives and how to become a successful human being as per the Buddhist philosophy.

Following the Dhamma Deshana, a vegetarian dinner buffet with Sri Lankan cuisine was served for the Sri Lankan community by the staff. The Chancery was decorated with the Buddhist flags and illuminated with colorful lanterns.
